Chappy's Journal started because I love watches and wanted a place to write about them. None of my friends wanted to hear a five-minute explanation of a bezel, so I built a place where that kind of enthusiasm was welcome. One article led to another and the site grew into a home for many of the things I enjoy, like Scotch and menswear.

As the site developed, it taught me more than I expected. I learned how to build and rebuild a website, how to form a tone of voice that felt honest, and how to write for readers who were looking for clarity. It also gave me room to experiment with social media, analytics, and the practical side of running a publication.
